The parties had previously approved a grant allocation to the Go Green Initiative Alliance in the amount of $55,000 to implement the Go Green Initiative (on site diversion programs and waste reduction and recycling education) to ten schools in the Tri-Valley area.

The Education Advisory Board is also researching appropriate projects to fulfill the goal in the settlement agreement to develop a job training program in waste prevention and recycling. The Board has met with the Regional Occupational Program and with the Center for the Development of Recycling atSan JoseStateto identify models for such a program.
